Egyptian faience is a porous ceramic material consisting of sintered quartz, coated with a glossy, vitreous glaze, mainly in a bluish-green color. It was widely used in ancient Egypt for the manufacture of small objects such as jewelry, scarabs, figurines, but also larger objects such as cups and tiles, etc.
